One of the best day trips from Boston is Newport, Rhode Island. Attending college nearby, I have spent a ton of time in the area. Here is a list of "Must Do's". Most of Newport is open year-round which means you can explore any time and not be disappointed. A little piece of advice-bring a hair tie and an extra layer no matter the season, windy can be an understatement most days!
Take a stroll along the Cliff Walk
The sound of the water mixed with the views is like nothing else! Bring your camera, you will want to capture the stunning architecture and scenery for sure.
Drive around Ocean Drive and stop by Castle Hill Inn
You might even need to pull over and take some pictures as you cruise-it's that pretty. Sit in the adirondack chairs on the lawn at Castle Hill Inn-it's the perfect pitstop. Maybe grab a cocktail too!
Check out the amazing front doors around town
The door knockers, the paint colors, the window boxes, everything!
Shop at CK Bradley
The patterns and colors are preppy chic. Their new location includes some other pop-up shops which are super fun!
Get a "Bag of Doughnuts" at The Mooring
These seafood fritters with aioli are just the best.
Have a cup of Chowder at the Black Pearl
Sit outside and be prepared to wait-it gets busy!
Late Night at The Boom Boom Room
Fun music, good drinks and GREAT people watching. It's at the bottom of the Clarke Cook House, which is also a fabulous spot for some dinner or drinks.
